The Fire Pit Collective — headed by former longtime Golf Channel personality Matt Ginella (a content partner of The Caddie Network) — pulled off an incredible caddie prank at Pebble Beach on Tuesday.
Ryan French, best known for his wildly popular Twitter account Monday Q Info (@acaseofthegolf1) and a member of the Fire Pit Collective team, is out at Pebble Beach this week caddying for his good buddy Mark Baldwin. Baldwin recently received a sponsor’s exemption from AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament director Steve John to play in the event and decided to take French along for what is sure to be a dream week…
… But Ginella — in good fun — turned the start of the week into an absolute nightmare for French.

Realizing what an unforgettable week this would be for French on the bag at one of the game’s most popular spots, Ginella decided he wanted to have a little fun at French’s expense.
So, on Tuesday as Baldwin and French headed out for a practice round at Pebble, Ginella arranged for John and Anthony Gallino from caddie services to meet with the player and caddie to break some bad news.
“It’s not a Monday. It’s a Tuesday. You don’t own Tuesdays. We do,” Ginella said to set up the punking.
You see, French was getting busted for “excessively tweeting” during Monday’s practice round at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, “a big no-no,” according to Gallino, who then informed French he might have his caddie credential pulled as a result.
Baldwin, in on the joke, then drops a bomb saying he’s going to withdraw if French can’t caddie.
John explains that as an exemption, Baldwin can’t do that. French is feeling terrible.
Baldwin asks French what he wants him to do and a bummed out French says, “I want you to get Eric to caddie and then go win the golf tournament.”
At that point, Gallino let’s French know he’s been punked by Ginella.
