With his victory in the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black on Sunday, 29-year-old Brooks Koepka is now a four-time major champion.
Koepka successfully defended the title he won last August at Bellerive in the most difficult conditions of the week during the final round.
Following the win, America’s Caddie Michael Collins caught up with Koepka’s caddie, Ricky Elliott, for the inside track on what was going on inside the ropes.
At one point, Koepka made four bogeys in a row and his seven-stroke lead to start the day shrunk to just one with Dustin Johnson making a run just ahead of him.
Through that adversity, Elliott reminded his boss, “Stay patient. We’re still have the lead.”
Elliott tells Collins all that and more in this TCN exclusive.
Next up for Koepka and Elliott on the major front? They head to Pebble Beach in June where Koepka will attempt to win the U.S. Open for the third year in succession.
