‘Under the Strap’ Podcast: Masters-winning caddies Joe LaCava, Damon Green and Ted Scott
EDITOR’S NOTE: This podcast with Masters-winning caddies Joe LaCava, Ted Scott and Damon Green was originally published back in April, shortly after the 2020 Masters had been postponed and the week it was supposed to be played.
With the Masters set to tee off with its November date next week, we wanted to revisit this pod.
From April:
As we all know, if it weren’t for the devastating COVID-19 global pandemic, all eyes would have been on Augusta, Ga., this week, which was set to host the 2020 Masters — the season’s first major.
For now, the tournament has been postponed. But, that doesn’t mean we’re not in the mood for some great Masters stories.
In our third ‘Under the Strap’ podcast episode, TCN Director of Content T.J. Auclair welcomes caddie guests Joe LaCava, Damon Green and Ted Scott — three Masters-winning caddies.

LaCava would have been the defending caddie champion this week with the No. 1 jumpsuit after helping Tiger Woods to Masters win No. 5 and major win No. 15 in 2019. LaCava was also on the bag for Fred Couples’ lone major win in 1992 at the Masters.
Green, meanwhile, was on the bag for Zach Johnson when the Iowan won the 2007 Masters and then later won the 2015 Open Championship at St. Andrews.
And, finally, there’s Ted Scott. He caddied Bubba Watson to two Masters victories in three years, the first coming in 2012.
On the podcast, all three caddies give you an inside-the-ropes look at what they experienced and also shed light on some of the cooler moments that came as a result of those wins they were such a big part of.
